Birthday Cake Surprise

So here is my journal entry....now it's your turn!

********

In class last Friday at Inma, we celebrated the birthdays of Amanah and Alaa. I brought some cake and we sang some silly birthday songs. Then a funny thing happened. Ali was teasing Rawan, so she pretended to throw her cake at him. But it accidentally flew off the plate and landed in his lap! He reacted quickly and caught the cake in his hands.

There was icing all over him! You should have seen his face. His eyes got bigger and his mouth froze open in shock. Everybody started laughing, except Ali. We didn't know what he going to do.

He reached out his fingers toward Rawan. They were covered with icing. I thought he was going to rub the cake in her face. But at the last minute he just smiled, stood up and went to wash his hands. I felt happy that we didn't have a cake fight. And I felt proud of Ali that he was able to take this situation with a sense of humor.

What did I learn? That my students have some self-control. And not to give Rawan cake anymore. : )

Our weblog name

As you can see, our weblog name now, "Rawda Journal," is pretty boring. Let's make up a new name.

What should our new name be?

Welcome! Ahlan!

Welcome to the Rawda Journal writers!

I look forward to reading your view of life at your school online!

Remember that a good journal entry should have these parts:

1. What happened?
2. Why is it interesting? (give details that made the moment special)
3. How did you feel about what happened?
4. (sometimes) What did you learn?

Let's write our way to good English!
